The Capitol Building is one of the most beautiful buildings in Idaho, but it's also one of the oldest.
The Idaho Capitol Commission was formed by Governor Phil Batt in 1998. He wanted to make sure that the Capitol Building would look almost as good as the first day it was built over 100 years ago. In 1999, Dirk Kempthorne became Idaho's new governor, and along with the Idaho Legislature, is continuing to make sure that the work to restore the Capitol will be finished.
